I knew I was going to Kentucky for a few days last week, and figured: Yeah, I'll just take my sketchbook, some pencils and pens, my copy of \u003Cb\u003EROM Annual #2\u003C\/b\u003E for references, and do some quick sketches to knock the rust off before I do my \u003Ci\u003Ereal \u003C\/i\u003Edrawing for this.\u003Ci\u003E (Which was going to be a super gross painting of M.O.D.A.M., by the way.) \u003C\/i\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003ESo, of course I end up \u003Ci\u003Ereading\u003C\/i\u003E the comic again first... wasting \u003Ci\u003Emore\u003C\/i\u003E time... and I was gonna do some sketches of ROM to warm up, but \u003Ci\u003Ethen\u003C\/i\u003E I figured: No, I'ma do a sketch of \u003Cb\u003ETarm The Seeker\u003C\/b\u003E and his  brine-shrimp-lookin'-ass... And Seeker has a really weird-shaped-head\/helmet on top of all that! Something asymmetrical. \u003C\/i\u003EWell, what's more organically-asymmetrical then a fuckin' \u003Cb\u003EDire Wraith\u003C\/b\u003E, right?  \u003Ci\u003EOkay.\u003C\/i\u003E  Let's try this again...\u003Cbr \/\u003ESo, I sketched me out a Wraith... but because when I draw- I don't pre-plan, or thumbnail, or do that shit with lines and circles like they always try and teach you- I just draw.  And I usually start with the head, sometimes a hand, and I just place it somewhere on the paper and fill everything else out around it as I go... \u003Ci\u003Ebecause\u003C\/i\u003E I do that: I often run out of room on the paper before I finish the full body, and something gets cut off.\u0026nbsp;  -So my Dire Wraith ended at the waist.\u003Cbr \/\u003EBut, it was just a sketch- no big deal.  I inked it to get some practice with that, and called it quits. I had to size them right, I could not get the transparency to do what I wanted- so I had to overlay and blend each half together as best I could... Luckily there were no saving or program errors- that \u003Ci\u003Eusually\u003C\/i\u003E always happens when I'm working on something big or important.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EAnyways \u003Ci\u003Eagain,\u003C\/i\u003E the point of my \u003Ci\u003Egoing on\u003C\/i\u003E like this is to say: That was just me. -All I managed with my free-time in a month was a pen \u0026amp; ink sketch. So, I can imagine whatever \u003Ci\u003Eyou\u003C\/i\u003E had going on- to not be ready for today, if you \u003Ci\u003Edid\u003C\/i\u003E want to be...  So, don't sweat it.
